Jupiter Enters Leo: What This Once-in-a-Decade Shift Means for You and Your Children

Jupiter moved into Leo on June 29, 2026

On June 29, Jupiter moved out of Cancer and into Leo for the first time in twelve years. Jupiter will stay in Leo until the end of July 2027, which means we're at the beginning of a long, expansive season of being asked to take up more room in our own lives, to stop shrinking the parts of ourselves that feel a little too bright, a little too much, a little too visible for comfort.

If you're raising kids, Leo carries a particular kind of intimacy because it doesn't just govern creativity and self-expression as most astrology books describe it; it also governs children themselves.

Leo governs the way we create kids, how they become inseparable from our own sense of identity, the way a grown woman with an entire life of her own still finds herself, on a dance floor on a random Sunday, introducing herself to a stranger as someone's mother before she introduces herself as anything else. (That was me last weekend btw …)

That instinct, the one that reaches for our children's names before our own, is Leo too. This is what we're being invited to sit with for the next year.

Wherever Leo falls in your birth chart is where Jupiter is about to bring its particular brand of blessing over the next year, and the invitation isn't subtle — this is the place in your life where you're meant to be unmistakably, unapologetically yourself, the way a four-year-old is herself before the world teaches her to make herself smaller for other people's comfort.

Personalize Jupiter in Leo to Your Chart

Look to the house that holds Leo on its cusp, because that part of your chart is about to be vitalized in a way it hasn't been in over a decade. This is where we're asked to hold our attention.

If you’re a parent, find the house that holds Leo on the cusp in your kids' chart. That’s where they'll grow and expand this coming year.

They will take pride in developing their authenticity and self-expression over the next year. Think: big, bright, and shiny. That’s what’s happening in that house (houses are just areas of life) in your child’s life. Fun, play, respect, admiration, leadership, authority — they'll develop all of those qualities in whatever households Leo is on the cusp of.

This builds directly on the work Jupiter asked of us while it moved through Cancer, when so many of us were rebuilding our emotional foundations, tending to our homes, inner worlds, families, and the roots underneath everything we do, because Leo is what happens after that groundwork is laid, the moment we get to stand up out of the water and say, here I am, this is who that work made me, and I am no longer interested in hiding it.

If you've been waiting for permission to be more visible, more creative, more honestly yourself in front of your children and the people you love, this is the year that permission arrives, whether you ask for it or not, and the only real choice left is whether you will meet it.

If you're craving a deeper exploration of how this transit specifically touches your chart and your role as a parent, we'd love to have you inside the Luminary Community, where conversations like this one happen all month long.
